What others are saying ......
I was at a point
in my life where I really was not feeling very well inside and out. Didn’t
really want to go out and socialise, was making work my life and feeling
overall pretty down and hopeless.
At this stage I
was training with a personal trainer 3x and had been for about a year and not
really seeing any results because I wasn’t eating right at all and not in the
right frame of mind.
The next thing I
got an email a work from my friend Anne who said “I have just joined this new boot
camp thing if you would like to come with me tonight and try it out to see if
you like it”.
Right here I really stopped and thought that I
had been presented with a cross road I could just be my usual self and say
“thanks but no thanks” or just go ahead and try it.
I agreed to go
that night. Now I was very very nervous – lots of things running through my head
“people are going to see me dressed like this” “how fat and unfit will I be
compared to everyone else” “what if I can’t keep up” “maybe I will call and say I changed my mind”
I didn’t do any
of those things I actually went to my surprise.
Once I got there
I was amazed at how relaxed I felt. Meeting Sandy was like I was meant to be
there.
Sandy made me
feel so welcome – not over the top or special attention because I was new but
just warm and easy going and a really “good vibe” was felt.
The other people
were amazing too – friendly, funny and easy to talk to and very encouraging.
So I began the
class. Yes I was behind others and was very puffed out but I loved every minute
of it. It doesn’t feel like such a chore when you are having fun at the same
time.
The warm up run
really made me feel where I was at and that was not very good. I used to watch
the guys up the front and say to myself “one day I want to be up there with
them”!
The exercises
are not boring and things change all the time. I was really really happy with
the hour session that I just did. It flew by. I know people say that once you
do exercise you release endorphins well I must have released heaps because I
felt sooo good and couldn’t wait to go back again.
I started attending
the night classes regularly after that 3x times a week. I really stated to feel
good but was still in a rut about my eating. So I decided it was time to get
serious.
About a month
into the classes I asked Sandy for help.
I recommend
highly to anyone if they need to go that bit extra or need help to talk to
Sandy.
I had always
been into fitness so exercise for me was not that hard and getting easier by
each class.
Sandy is so
wonderful in advice giving and really knows what she is talking about for any
circumstance.
For my instance
Sandy put me on at 1200 calorie a week eating plan and this is the first time
in my life someone really helped me with core of my problem.
This eating plan
worked wonders for me.
So my weeks
started to look like this now:
My energy
started coming out of nowhere.
I started to
weigh in with Sandy each week and then it started happening. I was losing at
least a kilo a week. I ended up in total
losing from the weight I was before I began to get serious with sandy –
15kilos.
Yes I know I was
doing a lot more extra exercise but I had the energy to do it I was never over
doing myself and I was now training to complete a triathlon.
My triathlon
came around and ended up finishing 9 out of 30 for my age group. I
was ecstatic and too my surprise I did the triathlon in 40 mins and wasn’t even
really puffed. I really recommend this
to anyone as it gives you something to aim for. Please I never thought I would
ever swim in the Swan River!!!!
I now continue
to just go to Sandy’s classes three times a week and this is now enough for me
as I am expecting my first child. J
I now know that
with my exercise and eating under control I can pass these ways onto my child.
Thank you to
Sandy for being such a wonderful teacher, friend, and in general a wonderful
person.
Sandy is a one
in a million trainer – no yelling, very fun and just someone you want to be
around.
Thank you once again for helping me on my journey I couldn’t have done it
without you.
Love Mell. X x x
Sandy has a
unique way of motivating each individual (even me) to reach their potential
whilst promoting enjoyment and increasing knowledge of fitness and nutrition.
Sandy Duxbury runs an awesome boot camp class at our
school which is both convenient to our staff and very affordable. Time and
money well spent!!
Sandy is a
wonder- she gets you fully motivated to do your best even when you dont feel
like it after having a hard day at work. An exceptional personal trainer!
Supportive, motivating, inspiring. Flexible and
encouraging. Even comes to my workplace for sessions. Sandy is amazing.
Absolutley love going to Sandy Duxbury's bootcamp
classes. She is very motivating and inspiring. She is always challenging you
and makes you feel good about yourself. Great atmosphere in all her class,
which always makes you want to come back for more.
Sandy is the
most motivated individual, always welcomes the team members and always has
exciting workouts on mind that she changes every time. She engulfs this sense
of togetherness in the team and inspires us to push ourselves to our limits,
in order to fulfill our personal goals! thanks Sandy : )

I
completed the last 5 week challenge Christmas Eve 2010 and cannot recommend
it highly enough. I am a mother of five kids aged 11 and under, and had
found getting fit just way too hard for years now. Because I could take
my kids with me to play safely in the park while we exercised with a
great group of people of varied fitness levels, my greatest excuse was
overcome. I started slowly, amassed at how unfit I had become. With
Sandy’s beautifully supportive encouragement I pushed through a whole
lot of barriers and am now a whole lot fitter. I have so much more
energy to play with my kids instead of just watching them play. Over
Christmas and a family holiday down south I have managed to run all but
Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. I am fitting in to clothes that were
way to tight when I started. I am making much better choices in regard
to what I eat and how I spend my time. It has allowed me to have a much
more optimistic outlook for the year ahead. I have to say , If you are
considering bootcamp, or a Challenge…DO IT!!!
"When
I first started the 5 Week Challenge I was sceptical that I would; a)
stick to it, b) enjoy it; and c) actually see some results. I am not
someone who enjoys exercise and the last time I ran, I believe I was 6
years old. Now the challenge is over, I look back and can't believe how
far I have come. The group sessions are are a fantastic motivator and
the instructors are incredibly supportive of each and every one of us;
knowing when to push and when to encourage. I am thrilled that I reached
my goal body fat percentage. but more than that, that I now actually
enjoy exercise and am seeing the positive results across many areas of
my life. I could not have achieved such fantastic results without the
help and support of my instructor: Sandy THANK YOU ! "
PS
- I was actually in bed last night wishing that we had bootcamp in the
morning. I was lying there thinking, "I could totally jog right now!"
BIZARRE and completely unlike me!! You guys must have foxed something in
my head in the last 5 weeks! Can't wait to get back into it.

I
came into the 5 week Challenge at the last minute and it was a huge
decision for me. It wasn’t a walk in the park, but then challenges
aren’t supposed to be! I DID IT. I lost 6 kg, reduced my body and
visceral fat, and became a lot fitter. The support of Sandy and the
fellow challengers was invaluable and I certainly could not have done it
without them. Yes it is a big commitment, but if I can do it anyone
can, and it is SO worth it. I felt great on Christmas day fitting into
an outfit I hadn’t worn for 2 years. Thanks Sandy.

5 week challenge summary - Pam Richardson
To
anyone who is looking at the 5 week challenge for inspiration,
motivation or just a goal to work towards - I say GO FOR IT!!! Sandy
makes it so achievable, the motivation she provides is out of this world
and although there are certainly some tough times, the results speak
for themselves. The menus are varied and especially delicious if you
are in love with brown rice and copious amounts of water! TIP: Add
some fresh Ginger to your water bottle, it makes it easier to get the
litres down throughout the day! We had an awesome group (pre-Chrissy
crazy's) who really pulled together and even made a tough challenge
enjoyable. Thanks for your ongoing support Sandy and congrats to all my
fellow crazy ones!
Winning my next block free was the icing on the cake (so to speak - coz what is cake I say?)
Love Pam x
I am 39 and have trained with Sandy over the last six months, I find Sandy's classes very flexible as I cannot always attend regularly due to shift work. Sandy is always able to adapt to individual need, allowing for different levels of fitness within the same class. Her classes are varied with cardio, resistance and interval training, which keeps them fun and challenging. They are also good value. It is also a great place to meet new people. The thing I most admire about Sandy is her enthusiasm for life whether it be health, fitness, nutrition, lifestlye, she is so enthusiastic and dynamic, an inspiration! You can't help but be motivated!

"Sandy offers a holistic approach to exercise which I have found to be so beneficial in maintaining fitness and general well being. She not only helps in creating a fit strong body but a positive attitude towards fitness, health, eating, self esteem and general lifestyle choices " Susan
I have been training with Sandy in group classes for the past 3 years. During this time I have not only improved my fitness greatly, I have made some wonderful friends and enjoyed myself all at the same time. Sandy is very encouraging and I am now training for a mini-triathalon, something I thought I would never do. Thanks for all your time and support Sandy.

Suddenly, I enjoy exercise!!
Everybody knows that participating in exercise is important for physical and mental health- but actually finding an enjoyable and motivating method for attaining enough physical activity is always not so clear. After years of struggling to find a regular exercise strategy suiting my skills, fitness level, budget and enjoyment of social interaction, I have finally unearthed a treasure. Sandy Duxbury's Personal Training is suited to all fitness levels, including beginner exercisers and advanced athletes. By ensuring that each person works to their maximum capacity, Sandy builds fitness, strength and flexibility rapidly in an enjoyable and supportive environment. My surprising new enthusiasm is paying off - the increased physical activity really has enhanced my feeling of well-being, increased my strength and motivated me to be more active in other areas in my life. I highly recommend Sandy Duxbury's Personal Training as a way of adding a positive and fulfilling dimension to one's physical and mental health.

I have known Sandy for 12 years. Sandy has always put in 110% to everything that she does. I started seeing Sandy as a personal trainer after a few medical problems hampered my mobility. I was being treated by a physio at the time and there were several exercises and movements that I was advised not to do. Sandy volunteered to come along with me to an appointment with the physio to find out where my goals etc were. She then set about designing an exercise program to get me back in order. Even when I went to Melbourne for six weeks she designed a program for me to do either in a gym (I hate gyms!) or in our apartment using what I had available. After my fitness improved I was able to join her regular classes, still being under her watchful eye that I wasn’t doing anything to inflame my injuries any further. Thanks to Sandy I am still able to do my trekking around the country side.

"I have bounced from gym to gym over the years but always struggled with commitment. It's always sooo easy to find a hundred excuses why you should give the gym a miss tonight and ultimately waste more money on unused membership. Group training was my solution and with Sandy and the "fit chicks" I've found the support and motivation I've been missing. After steady improvement I am now jogging further than I ever thought I could and thoroughly enjoying the challenge that each session brings. I look forward to sharing a laugh with the girls and hearing the latest advice on nutrition and how to keep fit and healthy. I have even found the confidence to register for a mini triathlon which I would not have dreamed of doing last year. Anyone out there trying to go it alone - come on down!" Anne
